Administration: Most commonly intranasal — apply measured drops divided between the nostrils; it may also be given subcutaneously. The short half-life favors 1–2 doses per day.

Reconstitution Steps

  1. Allow the vial to reach room temperature (15–20 minutes out of cold storage).
  2. Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe.
  3. Inject slowly down the vial wall to avoid foaming.
  4. Gently swirl or roll until fully dissolved (do not shake).
  5. Label with date and concentration; refrigerate at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
  6. For intranasal use, draw the measured volume into a sterile dropper or nasal applicator instead of an injection syringe.

Result: 5 mg/mL concentration

How This Works

Selank is a stabilized analog of tuftsin (a fragment of the immunoglobulin G molecule). Research associates it with modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic neurotransmission, changes in the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and inhibition of enkephalin breakdown — a profile linked to reduced anxiety and improved stress resistance.

Unlike benzodiazepines, it is not reported to cause sedation, tolerance, or withdrawal in the research literature. Effects are relatively short-acting, so dosing is typically once or twice daily.
