GHRP-6 (2 mg Vial) Dosage Protocol
Reconstitution and dosing guide for the 2 mg GHRP-6 vial — a growth-hormone-releasing peptide and strong appetite stimulant.
Quickstart Highlights
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist that stimulates a pulse of growth-hormone release from the pituitary. It is known for a pronounced appetite-stimulating effect and is often studied together with a GHRH analog such as CJC-1295. It is administered subcutaneously.
- Composition: 2 mg GHRP-6 per vial
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water → 1.0 mg/mL concentration
- Easy measuring: At 1.0 mg/mL, 1 unit (0.01 mL) on a U-100 syringe = 10 mcg
- Storage: Lyophilized: −20 °C (−4 °F); reconstituted: 2–8 °C (35.6–46.4 °F), protected from light, use within 2–4 weeks
Dosing & Reconstitution Guide
Subcutaneous protocol; the standard research dose is around 100 mcg per injection
Subcutaneous Protocol (2 mg vial, 2 mL = 1.0 mg/mL)
| Protocol | Per-dose | Frequency | Units (U-100) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 100 mcg | 1–3× daily | 10 units (0.10 mL) |
| Higher | 150 mcg | 1–3× daily | 15 units (0.15 mL) |
Administration: Inject subcutaneously on an empty stomach; before bed and/or pre-workout are common. A 2 mg vial provides about 20 doses at 100 mcg.
Reconstitution Steps
- Allow the vial to reach room temperature (15–20 minutes out of cold storage).
- Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe.
- Inject slowly down the vial wall to avoid foaming.
- Gently swirl or roll until fully dissolved (do not shake).
- Label with date and concentration; refrigerate at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
Result: 1.0 mg/mL concentration
How This Works
GHRP-6 activates the growth-hormone-secretagogue (ghrelin) receptor on the pituitary, prompting GH release while reducing somatostatin tone. It works through a pathway distinct from GHRH analogs, so the two are commonly combined.
Among the GHRPs, GHRP-6 produces the strongest increase in hunger via ghrelin signaling, which researchers factor into timing and dose.
Key Administration Notes
- Dose on an empty stomach to avoid blunting the GH pulse.
- Expect a strong, transient increase in appetite shortly after dosing.
- Rotate sites; use new sterile insulin syringes and a sharps container.
- Most protocols keep each dose near the ~100 mcg saturation level.
